My 72 Mustang does not have points. It has an electronic ignition conversion. Would I need a capacitor on the coil to stop my radio interference that I have been experiencing? The radio interference changes tone (get louder) when the engine RPM increases. My radio is grounded to the car frame.

Is it grounded to the frame or a body panel?

Is this frame or body panel grounded to the engine? How good are those connections?

Is the engine grounded to the battery? How good are those connections?

Are your spark plugs the resistor type?

How old are your Lightning Wires?

Check the power and grounds for your aftermarket ignition box too.
