Elimnated 2 90degree bends after maf today

I did some hacking to the full length densecharger today. I ahd the 2 bend calibration. One going from the maf to the fenderwell and another from the fenderwell going south towards the bottem of the car. So I cut the end off of the maf flange about 2inches and attached a 6inch k&n to the end. Now no bends before the maf. I've heard alot of people say its better this way. Is it possible to pick up a couple hp from this.

If anything, your A/F will lean out.

Actually it will create less turbulence going into the MAF. This is a good thing. Better readings and air flow.

I'm at borderline lean right now. I don't want any leaner or I won't feel safe. I'm at 13.5-13.7 across the board.

LOL, Actually I'm thinking of going with a set up Hookers for $439 from thunder racing. But you never know.

It will "richen" out your air fuel ratio.

I have a cheap ebay CAI that I only use the upper intake tube off of and its wrapped in header wrap. Only one bend. I have a air fuel ratio in the 12s with the headers and chip. Im VERY very rich for a n/a motor.
