There was a recall on the parking brake assembly because of this and once mine was fixed the problem went away. This was like a year and a half ago. You should have gotten a recall letter for this but if not call your local ford dealer and ask them about any recalls for your car. If your car is covered under the recall this will be fixed free of charge but will take like 2 hours. -Spaz-
