Hey guys, I don't have an emergency flasher knob in my car, I have the wiring harness sitting in there though. I can't find a decent priced flasher switch around anywhere, so I bought a regular rocker switch. Here's my wiring idea: the power from the flasher goes to one side, and the on side will have teh wires going to the lights. What do you guys think? Will it work?

I think the flasher will act as a relay for the lights. I think putting the switch between the flasher and lights will mean the flasher module operates constantly and the lights only work when you flip the switch.

I'll have take a look at the wiring diagram for my '68 in the morning.

you mean like they will only flash if i flick the switch on and off?
Hmm, then what is the purpose of the silver thing that the diagram has labeled as flasher?

K well i put the switch in between and it worked!! only problem is that it worked too well What i did was simply put the three wires (wires going to the left front indicators, the right front indicators and the brake) all into one terminal, and the hazard flasher in the other terminal. When i flicked the switch it worked! only problem... when i would use the turn signals... all of them would light up and flicker as well well... after an hour of troubleshooting i figured out that yes indeed, the switch was the problem. I'm not sure how to fix it, I'm still pondering. Any suggestions? are there such things as one way circuits or something? like some type of wire that only allows current to flow one way? if so i got it made!

It takes either the correct switch or one that will keep all three circuits separate when shut off. You ight try some after market type flasher switches from JC Whitney. They had some years ago.
