I have everything taken apart. diff cover off, carrier out, drive shaft down, yolk out, pinion nut off. But the pinion will not come out!!!!!....Please help. How can I get that pinion out? 92 5.0 with 8.8 rear end. PLease help everything apart and it is getting dark. The pinion spins freely (it is a stock pinion). Seems to be locked into the diff cavity.

stupid question... did you try to put the pinion nut almost all of the way and then hit with a dead blow hammer. not a metal hammer, a plastic sand filled dead blow hammer.you dont want to mees the pinion threads if you are reusing the pinion. sometimes the pinion gets in a bind with the bearing race/crush sleeve/seal.
