Hello,
Let me thank you advance for your help.

Here's the deal...I know next to nothing about Audio stuff but one night I was drinking and bought a couple things on Ebay.

I bought this Sub Box:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...2823&item=3088679969&sspagename=STRK:MEBWN:IT

I figured this would be a good one because it got some good reviews.
The Subs are DVC.

and this Amp:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4950&item=3089346893&rd=1

This Amp also got some good reviews and I had guessed a 4 channel Amp would work best with DVC Subs (2 channels into each)

Anyways...I take these to Curcuit City to be installed and the guy in the audio section told me I wasted my money...
He said that the Amp would fry up on the first really warm day of the year and the 4 channels were a waste because I would not be able to deliver all the power to the subs and if I tried...the Amp would burn up!

What gives?!!! Is this true?

Thanks in Advance,
Lance

No the amp would not burn up, but you would have to run a signle sub off of no more than two channels each and at that rate they would be underpowered IMO. Bottom line is they will work but just not sound as good. Don't lesten to anything someone says that works at Circuit City.

ahhh drinking and e-bay! what a combo :D your a man after my own heart haha

well im no pro but this will work because

the subs are 4 ohm dvc
so you can wire it in 2,4,or 8 ohm

and the amp runs "400 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode" im assuming in 2 ohm

so yes this will work but the rms for those subs is 700... while like i said im no expert in the sound field ive heard that underpowering a sub will hurt it. though i send my 12'' L7 600.1 and it runs like a charm (if anyone thinks this is a bad idea lemme know)

so all said she should work

4-ohm DVC's i dont believe u can wire to be 4 ohms total impedance, just 2 or 8. and underpowering a sub is usually only dangerous because when adjusting the gain, somebody pegs it out, and makes the amp DC clip, which destroys the sub (AC good, DC baad......i learned the hard way after 3 subs blew up)

The RMS value they listed is for the entire package, they're rated at 350RMS each, so you'll be overpowering them a little. They should be able to take it fine as long as you're not stupid with them, just gives you a little more headroom. Saleen is right, though, it's always best to overpower them than underpower, because clipping can kill subs pretty easily.
