For those that have cleaned up under hood and rebuilt etc.. did you replace all of those plastic covers things on the frame?

I meant those rubber flaps on the side of the radiator and the side of the frame where the swaybars mount.

Ozz

I think I have a problem here.

I cleaned & degreased mine and sprayed with the OEM flat black paint from 5.0 Resto. Gave it a great, new-like look.

Cool. I will do that.

Do they really serve a purpose though?

I've read that they direct more air flow more toward the radiator the same as the rubber deflector that is under the radiator.

I bought two Rubbermaid office trash cans that were retangular in shape and black in color. I used the old pieces as templates and cut new ones with some tin-snips, drilled holes and mounted them with some self tapping stainless screws and washers. I modified the shapes of the side pieces to fill in better and fit nicer around the front sway bar. Looks better than stock and is made of a thicker plastic too.

Damn, I LOVE car-guy ingenuity like that. Just random little details that would cost a lazy man 10 times as much to buy plain replacement parts that aren't as good anyway. Well done, sir.
