engine block identification?

I have a 351 block but don't know the year etc....need help guys what year make model etc... is the block from?here are the numbers

I have found out that the numbers d9ae mean it is 75-76 carb. block so far but I would like to know how to break down the codes

d9 makes it a 79 block as far as the rest I would have to look up

I can't help you anymore than that. I only know about the 302 markings.

yes . . . d9 is 1979.

Weakest block, 2-piece rear main.

But at least it beats a stock 302 block.

The "D9" in the casting number is 1979 and later. A later model year block, i.e. '80, or '81, etc., will have that same casting number.

The date code of "9D3" is March 3, 1979.

"351" = just what it says
"WCP" = Windsor Casting Plant
