Engine Code T???

I am looking at purchasing a 1995 gt convertible this week. I looked up the vin on Carfax, and everything looks to be okay. However, when I tried to decode the vin#, it shows an engine code "T". I thought i should be "E" being a GT, but, it shows T! Any ideas would be great. Thanks:shrug:

I think I can answer this one actually, all the Mustang GT's built for the Japanese market had a T instead, so yours may beone that was destined for export, but didn't get onto the boat.

I'm going to Dyno ours when it finally arrives over here, there's a slim chance their ecu's were factory tuned for the Japanese 100 octane fuel.

Aight. The T code is for GT's (and GTS's .... I would guess). The D code is Cobra's only ..... and ALL Cobra's should be a D code.

The E code you refer to I have only seen on Fox bodies (a 91 GT being an example).

Now this is info that is quite handy, that's one thing that appears to be lacking on the internet too, when I first decided on a 'stang as our next project car 3 weeks ago, I stated looking for technical info of any kind, and only found very basic specs, and that was it.

Once the car arrives, which is a bone stock, 37,000 mile GT coupe,.I'm going to be measuring and photographic everything as we go, just like I did on my old car, which ended up with almost 3000 pictures, and 200 pages of info!

That's awesome. I look forward to seeing your project! And just for anyone else's infor, there seems to be a real issue with corresponding information, because I went to the bookstore today, looked in two mustang books, and in both, they denote a engine code "E" for 1995 gt code. The plot thickens. I may have to actually e-mail Ford and see what the official word is. Anymore infor would be cool. Thanks guys!
