Hey guys,

I'm having a problem with my motor misfiring. It started a few weeks ago that the engine was misfiring and then just stopped running. Figured out that the distributor was bad so I went to advance autoparts and got a rebuilt distributor for $65. The motor is running again but still misfires sometimes. When I start up the car in the morning, it runs great, no misfires. But then when I turn it on again like 1 hr later, the motor misfires. The only way it'll stop misfiring is if I let the car cool down completely. I already changed plugs and wires. Any idea what it could be? could it be that the distributor is just bad?
Thanx.

When you got that rebuilt distributor did it come with a new TFI module. If it did not that my be your problem also check your coil. You said it just misfires with it's hot and not when the car is cold or just started so that tell me the problem may be your coil or TFI module. So check those out good luck.

sounds like TFI like metioned above. Another thought could be a vacuum leak because vacuum leaks can get worse when warmed up depending where its coming from. just a thought, also check timing. if its mostly stock, 12* would be a good starting point
