Hey guys, I mostly just lurk nowadays. Anyways my poor baby is acting up on me. Remember my spark plug in the second cylinder

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=432728

Haven't really had any problems since then. Until about a month ago when she started missing every now and then on startup. About a week ago she got MUCH worse. Since then I have flushed the tranny, changed the oil and filter, changed the coolant, new plugs and wires and adjusted the idle following the correct procedure down to 750-800(it had worked it's way up to 1100 at idle)
The same plug that had disappeared then was a little dirty this time(2nd cylinder) and the rest looke purty as a pie. Did a compression check because I thought it might be running lean in #2. NOPE 2, 3, and 4 were all between 120-130 and #1 was @ 90.........gulp. Hold on let me test again I thought....yepppppp same results. Thats odd #2 plug is ugly but #1 cylinder is the one low on compression. Since then she still idles rough and missing after being started(but only at random times) Sometimes she fine others not and once she gets going she feels like she is running ok although I can kinda(barely) hear it aroung 22-2400 rpms while accelerating. I have an K&N PVVC intake, Longtube header(thanks cro) with full exhaust. My EGR is not capped. Any thing else that may help diagnose the problem? Thanks ALL

Not real sure, but I have had several of these, 95 Windstar, 96 Explorer, 98 F150, etc, and all turned out to be a plug wire or coil. The works fine until it reaches operating temp description leads me to think one coil of the coil pack is failing.

You can still check each coil individually with a meter.

Busted the CAT out, sounds MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHH throatier, just as I was tiring of the way it sounded. It is completely different now. I will update on the problems though, looks like I am burning oil and have low compression in cylinder #1. Nice white smoke with a blue tint to it, we all know what that means.
