Well, I finally got around to putting my T5 in my 68 Cougar. I also got the rear leafs squared up, 3.50 locker center section, power brake conversion, and cable clutch setp up all in the car.
cost me 2K to have it all done. Some things I'm just going to do in the drive way any more.
Any way, the five speed is fun, the new gears are nice, but I seem to have picked up an engine vibration at 18-2500 rpm.
The whole clutch kit was the Mustang Steve product.
Has any one else that has done this swap had a balance problem after words?
I thought that when my block was machined I was told that it would balance either with a 28 or 5.0 balanced clutch.

Is that possible? This is my first 5 speed, once again I'm in the learning curve...

Also, be careful buying a used transmission, mine has an issue going into second under a load....

I had a pretty bad vibration when I first did my swap. Long story short, turned out to be the cheap flywheel I bought off FleaBay (it was new). I swapped it with a new Ford Racing piece and no vibrations at all. Quality of the macine work between the 2 pieces was night and day. Not saying this is your problem, but certainly could be. Do you know what brand flywheel you got in there?
