Is there another oil filter I can run other than an FL-1A or a 400s ford motor craft oil filter? I dont know why but my oil filter ( 91 mustang ex cop car with the oil cooler adapter) is rubbing against my sway bar and created a hole/oil leak on the filter pretty bad. I've been underneath it and dont see anything that has changed. The car runs and drives great. Oh yea, I've owned the car for a year and have done several oil changes and have not had a problem such as this. thanks fellas

im sure the bar is probably bent or maybe motor mounts wore out and... well i dunno, if your sure this is the problem just get a remote oil filter mount, they are pretty cheap, but im sure your problem is somewhere else

Was it the 400 that rubbed through?

You could do a remote filter if you wanted - they are not that pricey.

I understang there is a problem somewhere else. I'm just looking for a temp fix so I can move it around without pushing it or making a huge mess. Oh yea, yes the 400 rubbed through and I noticed it is shorter than the FL-1a they normally call for. Maybe an 820s? Not to jump to far off but what do you guys recommend for motor mounts? Thanks again guys!!

An FL-300 is exactly the same as a FL-1A except it is shorter. It should do the trick!

i got some chaepo poly motor mounts from summit.... this car is my daily and it does make the ride kinda rough at low rpm... but not too bad, i dont mind my car shaking

Just so you know... The FL-300 IS the correct filter for the SSP Mustangs with the optional oil cooler. One of the local fast-lube places put some odd sized filter on my SSP once. It was somewhere between an FL-1A and an FL-300. It cleared the sway bar alright, but it was hard to get a wrench on it to get it off.
