I'd like to make a correction about my gas milage going up because of this product. I'm sorry to say it was just a conicidence(SP?)MSM0075 said:Well I've tryed the 'Restore' Prodcut on my last oil change, since then I have gone 500 Miles on it and I'm starting to notice a difference in preformance. Right after I change the oil and added 'Restore' my Gas Milage went from 16 to 22! But if you guys say its bad news then I'll stop using it. You guys also say Lucas is the same kind of deal??

I've heard tranny oil helps rings seal89roadster said:Anybody ever heard of putting ATF fluid in before an oil change? A guy that I know who rebuilds older engines and I respect says that one of his tricks to keep everything in the engine clean is to dump a cup of ATF in the engine a few hundred miles before changing the oil - it's supposed to break up any build up...but I have to wonder what it does to the seals????
The kind of cars that he works on don't see much action except at antique car shows

You tell this guy that the Engine restore is like heavy weight oil, and it’s like Vaseline, and it will clog filters and it is snake oil oh, and this comment what (about cross hatching. does it supposedly fill that too. i don’t buy it)
You Dummy the cross "Cross hatching” you refer to is only to seat rings on a new engine and is gone after such ring seating
All the suggestions that you have posted are just hear say (you hear it and just repeated what you hear like it was fact)
The truth is this product probably works in some hi mileage engines that just have normal wear in the cylinder walls and this product contains a package of very fine metals (copper ,silver, lead) and these get rube into the fine scratches in the cylinders wall and therefore improve the seal. And yes this product will be sacrificial in other words you have to use it every oil change to keep the benefit. It is a band aid that will help improve the engine performance until you rebuild
This product was tested in a car mag several years ago as they were trying to build a low dollar drag car and they used a hi mile V8 an tried this stuff as the compression was low and varied in most cylinders
And what do you know this stuff worked as it is advertised for the magazine folks and they even stated they were skeptical that is would.
After re checking the compression all the cylinders were very close to each and had raised the compression significantly
So why post info that you did no “real research” on and instead just show how ignorant you are on this product and how if functions
I just can’t stand people that perpetuate rumor and bad info just so they can sound like they know something
Like I said you are a Dummy
