engine is wobbling pretty bad and not getting much better as rpms increase. I have a pretty loby cam but it used to smooth out above idle.

i checked spark and get spark to all plugs. how do I check to see if the cam lobes are flattening out? I am getting a little more of a tick under the valve covers but it does not too bad.

any other check I should be looking at?

thanks

check all vac lines first then check for leaks under the carb choke stuck? but more than likly vacum making run rough bad plugs compression fould may be bad fuel or bad wires

you might also consider that you have a bad tune.

start by running a compression check, then a vacuum check. then check the plugs wires, coil, ignition module(if using electronic ignition), carb condition, etc. if you then feel you might have a wiped cam lobe, break out a dial indicator, and hand turn the enginewhile checking the valve lift. if all the valves lift the same, or close, amounts then you have a healthy cam, but if you have one or two valves that are very low, then you have a wiped lobe.

Is it possible.....

Do you have mech lifters? Is it possible that you need to adjust your rockers?
Just a thought.

Did you cross two wires possibly and the firing order is off?

plan on checking the wires and compression this weekend. wires are good, but I do have points and that makes me think a little.
