Just looking for some reputable shops that sell assembled bottom ends and or complete engines. I know of a few common ones like DSS but im looking for some more places and some feedback on them, maybe some past experiences with their business and what you purchased there.

Im still trying to decide wether I should go N/A or get the vortech s-trim. I was going to rebuild my engine anyways so I'm thinking maybe a new engine and go N/A. Does anyone have any first hand experiences owning a blown car and a N/A car both around 400HP? whats the difference in the power curve? Thanks

Where are you located?

You can have smaller parts, turn less rpm and reach over 400HP, still pass emissons every day with a blower.

NA, the combo needs to be refined, turn a little more rpm, may or may not pass emissions, and is a little less street friendly.

I've had expierence with all of them, NA (mid 11's, 340RWHP, emissions..lol) was great loved beating up on those poorly built power adder combos. The blower combo was very mild as far as what it had but really moved (425/465RWHP/TQ, passed emissions.

Im located in MA, I've had a supercharged street truck for about 2 years and just moved over to the stang. When I started out the project I thought I had a good idea of what I wanted to do. But now that I have the money to do it, im thinking twice. My plan is forced ind. but a nice powerfull EFI engine sounds pretty nice and kinda makes the blower idea look stupid.

D.S.S. !!! You get what you pay for. My friends Coast short block didn't make it a 2000 miles. Broke a rod the first time he got on it just running 12psi boost. One of the local engine builders found a lot of stuff done wrong (machined incorrectly)and recommended D.S.S. if he wanted to go the crate motor route. He was told that all the engines the builder had seen done by them were built right. Never had any issues with them.

PK Machine in Fitchburg Mass can help you out. Or Modern Performance in Walpole NH. Or Rick 91GT

PK Machine (Paul Krauss) (978)342-1179 Paul did the block prep, machine work, balancing, and engine dyno on my 418. Stan Pearson of modern performance (603)756-4296 did the assembly. Paul can do the whole deal for you, I met him through Stan. PM me if you want more info on either of them.
Mike.
