Engine Squeal

When my car starts up it squeaks pretty bad for about 10 minutes, I was wondering if I could tighten the belt or what? Dude at local auto store told me to wd 40 it a bit, but then only worked for about a week

Get a Goodyear Gatorback.

That's just belt squeal. Belts stretch over time. Unless you have a blower with adjustable idler pulleys just replace the belt. Once a belt starts to slip it's toast, you will never get it back, you can put belt dressing on it but that won't last long. +2 for Goodyear gatorback.
