Whenever I start the car on a cold morning or its been sitting for hours, it will rev up to like 1500rpms then drop to 1000rpms, then drop and drop until the car stalls out. After starting it back up, I give it some gas to keep it around 1000rpms.

Also when I'm driving has done it twice. After either being at a high rpm like 4000rpm then quickly put it in neutral and hit the brake to stop, the car sometimes will drop so low it stalls out again.

What could be the problem?

When was the last time you clean your maf sensor the idle control sensor and adjusted your Throttle position sensor? These three sensors play a big role in idleling the car and the performance of the car especially the idle control sensor start with that one clean it out and see if that helps.
