Engine Swap Q?

I have a stock t-5 and apparently a ****ed up motor. I know how to pull the block on an automatic (done it before) but is there anything I need to know when taking this one out? More importantly, is there anything special I have to do when putting it in? Aligning the input shaft? Do I have to touch the flywheel or clutch/pressure plate? Can I just unbolt the stupid thing and then bolt it back up?

just unbolt the bellhousing, and unhook the clutch cable. to swap the pressure plate and flywheel to the other motor, just unbolt them and put em on the other motor torquing the flywheel and youll have to get a clutch alignment tool (comes with new clutch kits, ask at autozone or pepboys for one) that goes in the center of the clutch and into the pilot bearing, then torque the pressure plate down. after that it should just slide back into the transmission.

What kind of pistons are these?

Also I have these pistons in and I cant find anything on them with the numbes stamped into it. They were claimed to be forged Speed Pro. Any help is appreciated. Are they forged, what compression, and the make. Also will they handle a load, like 10lbs boost or 100 shot?

Those are hyperuetectic coated SpeedPro's.

The only disadvantage that hypers have is they are not as tolerant to detonation as a forged piston. They do have a better ring seal and less piston slap on cold starts than a forged piston, and they are WAY better than a cast slug. As long as you're tune is good, you will not have a problem.

If the donar engine is an automatic, don't forget to add a pilot bushing for the 5 speed's input shaft. It's tiny bushignthat rides in teh end of the crank that the tip of the input shaft slips in. Automatic cars dont have the bushing, but the crank is the same so just buy one and put it in. Then you're :nice:
