Hi, Does anyone's 05-06 GT have a loud ticking sound coming from the engine, But seems to get louder when you poke your head under the car? It's also definatly louder when you pop the hood open. The car only has 1,100 miles on it and has made the noise as far I know since I bought the car. I've heard other people talk about it being normal, But only thing that worries me is the ticking sound gets louder upon acceleration. Is this noise normal? The car runs strong and powerful just really concerned. Anyone with any info would be most appreciated.

Totally normal. At least I hope it is because mine does the same thing and has ever since I got the car over a year ago.

I had the ticking noise and there is no mistaking it for anything else. I had mine repaired under the tsb. They replaced all valve lashers on the passenger side and both cam phazers. Problem solved. I hope this helps.

Ok I've got two questions.

1. If this is the same problem my car has, Will I be hurting anything by not getting it fixed right away?

2. How long does it take for them to replace all those things?

My stang is my DD and only transportation to work and back so i'm hoping me driving it all the time isn't hurting anything if this is the same problem as stated above. But its gotta be something wrong its to loud to be normal. Now im kicking myself in the ass because I had an appointment at the dealership for 7am this morning but didnt go because I work till 1am and dont get home till around 2am. I would have only gotten about 3 hours sleep and I love my sleep lol but now I really wish I would have went Any more info be great or the answers to the two questions.

Got My 06 in March, ticking was evident on passenger side when warm. Dealership diagnosed it as noisy lifters on cylinder 3. They said it wouldn't hurt anything, but replaced the lifters and rockers on this cylinder and she just purrs now (No ticking). Still screams at full throttle. The annoying ticking is completely gone. Took from 10:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m. to get job done. Total satisfaction.

Hey thanks for answering the two questions! Now looks like i'll be remaking the appointment to get it checked out. Hopefully they can fix it in one day.
