Engine 'Whinning' Noise?

I have a 2001 Gt vert. when i got the car after it got hot the car would hiss at idle or when im at a crawl. i checked it out and found that one of the pulleys was bad. I replaced it along with the belt. but i got a louder and higher pitched noise. I checked the alternator and it would squeel when i turned it by hand so i replaced it with my friends out of a 2003 gt but i still got the same problem! the noise seems to only come from the front part of the engine and it runs from idle to about 3k rpm...help me out guys!!!!!!

how do u know for sure that its the water pump?
oh btw Did i mention that i replaced the belt like 500 miles ago.
