Hey people it's been a while since I've been around. Anyhow, here is something I figured everyone should know about with the EPA and small aftermarket companies.

This is a pretty big story over on the Buick Boards. We don't have a lot of companies producing parts for our cars and one of them is underfire from the EPA. In a land mark case, the EPA has done away with the term "Off Road Use Only" etc. Casper electronics was producing ans elling 02 SIMs for the OBDII systems. I want go into details why this device is made but the EPA states no tampering and removing of emessions devices. So they was fined something like 75k and it forced to recall all itemes sold over the years. This wouldn't hurt someone like MSD or Eldelbrock etc but it's almost death for a small company. It's my opinon that the EPA was a coward for not going after companies like Holley and Edelbrock etc. They make things like EGR delet manifolds and delete pre-heat tube air cleaners for older cars etc. No, the EPA choose a small company who couldn't aford to take it to court.
