Does anyone else notice a small wiggle in the steering if your are turning and tap the brakes? These cars all have hydroboost, so power steering fluid/pressure is used to boost the brakes. On mine, I notice a very momentary loss of power steering assist when I tap the brakes, but literally just a fraction of a second.

Anyone else notice this, or is something going bad on my car?

Never had this problem on my Mach. Is it possible you need to bleed your PS system or maybe burp it ? Maybe low on fluid ?

Never noticed. If I remember, I'll pay attention tomorrow.

I checked the PS fluid, it is good. Far as I know, the PS system has never been openned and has no reason to have air inside. We've had the car for more than 10 years, and since it had 50k miles. It's got 204k now.

I have the feeling that the PS pump is getting weak, and not putting out as much volume as it once did. That would allow for a drop in pressure when I touch the brakes. Ohh well, if it gets worse, I will figure out the problem. Just kind of a wierd annoyance now.

Cheap/easy thing to try would be a power steering fluid flush. With that many miles on the car, the fluid is going to be quite dirty.
