Im thinking about getting the evo5 bumper. but before i buy it i wanted to know if it needs a lot of modifacations to put on an 02.

it's a replacement bumper it should just attach the same as the factory one. The two pop 'em nuts on the top and two on the bottom and then the four nuts (two each side) inside the wheel well.
