Right now i got a 99 gt with flowmaster 40s..
Should i get 44s? Or will something sound way bad ass than both of those?

I have a o/r x and magnaflow magnapacks and I love the way it sounds. I have people that come up to me all the time and tell how good it sounds.

I have 40 Flows too and they just aren't loud enough and dont rumble enough. The 2K rpm drone is REALLY on my last nerve as well. I think Im going to go with MAC Flowpaths next

I have noticed that 99-04 gts have alot more drone than a 96-98 has. Is that right or is it all in my head

The flowpaths sound great but there even more drone at 2k with them. I would suggest trying a strait through muffler like the magnapacks.

Personally, I prefer the sound of a chambered muffler over a straight-through muffler.

Would an O/R mid pipe eliminate the drone?

I mean it sounds good but my magnapacks make your car sound weak. It all depends on what you like. My car is really really loud and I don't even have headers yet. I like slp, magnaflow and the pypes catback sounds good too. You should go on youtube and look up all the different types of catbacks, thats what I did.
