Keeping budget in mind, what non-catted x pipe and exhaust do you guys like.
Loud is fine.

2v's by nature already have a crude raspy sound... h-pipes add some much needed bass and they sound wicked. I've had both and while the x-pipe sounded good, it's got nothing on the rumble of an h.

That sounds awsome, but I've got to ask, how loud is it?

How PO'ed would my neighbors get when I leave for work every morning at 4:30am?

It isn't too loud (like, say an O/R pipe with SLP LM1's). I think you'd be good as long as you took it easy up and down your street

mine is catted, but even w/ LT's H and SLP LM1's it doesn't start getting loud until 3k. I can driver through my development at 5am w/o making any more noise than a non modified car.

I have the Summit off road H-pipe and I really like it. It isn't stainless steel so it will rust but this doesn't matter to me... I just want power and a good sound. The bottom of a car is going to rust no matter what. It's a road car, not a priceless show car.

I disagree. I've had a MAC o/r H-pipe that is made of aluminized steel on my car for 5 years or so. Before installing it I painted it with silver header paint. There is zero rust on it and it still has a very nice silver appearance to it.

Good point.... I had to take my off road H pipe off to pass emissions. Maybe I'll hit it with some paint. What brand/color did you use? Do you have any pics you can share?

I never took pics of the exhaust, but the paint was VHT Header Paint I picked up at Fleet Farm. I can't get pics until I take my car out of storage which won't be for a couple months yet. I did however find this pic of a header that looks just like my midpipe though...

My mid pipe has a bit of rust on it.... I really don't feel like sanding the thing all day.

How about Naval Jelly? Would that strip any rust off and still be paintable?
