Exhaust advice needed(muffler suggestions)

I'm seeking some advice for a local guy here with a 1997 GT. I'll start with a little background on the car. When purchased, it had an aftermarket setup consisting of a catted h-pipe and 40series flowmaster mufflers(it's ran out the back like the stock setup, utilizing the stock exhaust tips/tails). The car was extremely quiet with that setup, maybe a tad louder than stock. Anyways, the catalytic converters were recently removed and now the Mustang doesn't sound that good at all. If I were to describe the sound, I would say it sounds like a typical old truck with exhaust at idle and then it gets pretty loud going down the road and pops a lot(you can't even tell it's a Mustang anymore from the exhaust setup). I'm trying to figure out what mufflers he could switch to and retain the h-pipe that will make the car sound more like a mustang/give it that typical mustang tone. I'm used to 5.0's myself and I don't have any experience with aftermarket setups for the 4.6's(I've heard some that have that mellow mustang tone, but I'm unsure of what setups the people with them are running.). Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated(sound clips and/or videos would help too if you've got them...of any 4.6 SOHC w/ an h-pipe and aftermarket mufflers). Thanks. :nice:

definitely get an aftermarket mid pipe. I'm kinda partial to O/R ProChambers w/FlowMasters

With a o/r Prochamber on the car and the current 40series flowmasters, will it pop a lot and whatnot? Basically, the guy wants it to at least sound somewhat like a Mustang...currently, it REALLY sounds like an old truck with straight pipes on it or something. I have a spare prochamber for a Fox body/5.0 mustang that attaches to longtube headers that we might try on there if it will physically fit(I know we're going to have do some welding to get it on there or make some flanges so that we can bolt it in...).
