Well eventually I want to get full exhaust because I think I can pick up some nice HP since all I have is an aftermarket X. I've kind of narrowed it down to a few option but wan tto know what you would do. I already know for sure Mac LT's since I have an auto but need opinion on the rest.

1. My first option was the Mac LT's to a Dr.Gas X-Pipe to Flowmasters American Thunder Catback. Then I read that a chambered muffler like the Flows restrict HP nd people have had 4-5hp gains from replacing them with a diff catback.

2. My second option was the Mac LT's to an off road shorty Mac Prochamber to either SLP, Mac, or Flowmaster catback.

I figured I'd get better over all HP gains from the X-Pipe, and I've heard a sound clip of a car with the Dr.Gas pipe and Flows and it sounded good. Then I was thinking I'd get a better overall sound from the Prochamber but also lose a few HP. What do you all think about these combos or go ahead and reccomend a diff. one if you want. Thanks.

If you're really after power, I'd go with the bassani X pipe or dr. gas for sure. I wouldn't expect a huge gain from your catback, regardless of what you put on.

Well Mac make good products and sound awesome, but their quality is kind of crappy. They tend to rust kind of quickly. It depends on if you want the nice Mustang rumble or just a loud Mustang. I have a UPR O/R X with my Flows and it sounds great. A UPR is a nice piece for $139 brand new.
But Dr.Gas is a nice pipe also, but I think it's a tad high and it comes in like 7 pieces. But a Dr.Gas or UPR with a Mac Catback sounds great . The Mac Catback has a deep tone, but something like a SLP is loud and kind of raspy. The difference maker is definitely going to be the mid pipe as far as sound and performance piece of the exhaust goes.

I like my MAC o/r H with Flows. Classic sound. Don't care about the so-called MAC lack of quality. If it falls apart, hey, I had fun with it, and it'll be an excuse to get a better pipe, and try an X.

Someone with the knowledge of what types of mid pipes go with what type of cat-back/ mufflers sounds the best and have a sticky for kind of a guide line.

A Catted X pipe goes with 1,2,3, chambered mufflers?
A O/r X pipe goes good with 1,2,3 chambered mufflers?
H pipe and O/r H pipe with xxxxxxxxxx

What sounds like deep and what's raspy?

I though I've read that a o/r X pipe with a straight though muffler sounds better then a o/r x pipe with a chambered muffler....

H or X sound great with chambered--it's all in what you want.

H = deep, hollow sound, typically more mellow
X = exotic, raspy sound, typically very loud

There's a million different opinions on this, so you should go with what you want, not what someone tells you. Listen to local Stangs and ask what they have. Check out http://www.mustangexhaust.com and Spreadman's site for more sounds.

H= deep muscle car rumble, usually goes real well with chambered muffs

X=louder, more nascar like sound to it. may give a "slight" power increase over and H. a lot of guys with straight through muffs/resonators (SLP Loudmouth, MagnaPACKS, Borla Stingers) use an X.

I opted for a catted x-pipe with my loudmouth 1's, which are a straight through resonator (its hollow) to keep from getting too raspy. (compared to an o/r X) its loud as hell at WOT and has a nice subtle rumble at idle.

and yeah, ive heard the same about o/r x with chambered muffs.

ahh, you beat me to it git-it

You are not going to get one straight answer on this topic because some people think the combination that they are running is the best sounding, but it depends on what you want and how much money you want to spend on your exhaust.
IMO:
Dr. Gas or UPR O/R X with a Mac Catback or FLowmaster Catback sounds Deep and rumbly

Bassani and SLP O/R Xs sound a little raspy with the matching Catback or a Magnaflow catback.

SLP Loudmouth 1 with the factory headers and midpipe sounds pretty good also.

Bro, like everyone will tell you, there are hundreds of combinations and about 20-30 of them sound really good. So it's hard to narrow it down to the best because you're going to have to factor in other stuff like headers and cams, which will change the exhaust note. But what ever you get, make it loud

I'll have to get a clip up of mine. sounds similar, just not as deep as the 4V and minus the blower whine . i dont think hes running different heads either, look at the #s at the end of the vid.
