i bought a 90 mustang gt with an american thunder cat back already installed on it but i dont know what size it is (2.25 or 2.50) the question is does it matter what size mufflers (2.25 or 2.50) i buy or would a shop be able to fit either one on there

I would buy the 2 1/2....it's easier to expand a pipe to fit the muffler and also the system on your's is probly 2 1/2

So are you saying that either size will fit? I just dont want to order the wrong size diameter mufflers, could i just measure the diameter of the tailpipes since they are cut off?

well if you have a 2.25 cat back...the shop can expand the pipes to fit a 2.50 muffler. but if you have a 2.50 system the 2.50 muffler's will fit.

but if you have a 2.50 catback and buy some 2.25 mufflers they will need to size down to the smaller mufflers

so if i go with the 2.5 will i be able to use the tailpipes even if they are from a 2.25?

if u already have a cat-back im gonna say its 2.5 inch piping so i would go with the 2.5 muffler

well the mufflers that are on there now are bolted right to the stock h- pipe so wouldn't that make it 2.25? I just want to be able to reuse my tailpipes
