I was looking for a new Mid pipe for my exhauset system. Currently I have stock headers, stock h-pipe, and flowmaster muffler. I was looking to get a Bassani x-pipe. On americanmuscle.com it says you need a shorty header to connect it. Would the bassani fit onto the stock headers? What gives better performance the bassani or magnaflow? any help will be greatly appreciated

One last question, On AmericanMuscle.com they are selling two bassani x pipes, one is a catted x pipe, and one is an offroad x pipe. What is the difference? Which would give the most performance?

Offroad is just a straight pipe with no cats = Best performance = Illegal in alot of states. Check your state's inspection laws.

You can get creative like I did and take a couple generic cats, cut em clean in half and gut em, and weld them over an offroad pipe so they look like they're in line. Looks legal but won't pass any sort of emission/smog test.

I know some guys who have both pipes and only put the cats on for inspection time.

As mentioned above, off road midpipe doesn't have any catalytic converters (cats) on it. Cats really obstruct the flow of exhaust gases and therefor hurt performance.

Some states don't allow off road midpipes because they do not meet smog emissions. An off road pipe is the best option for performance/sound.

I will recommend the VRS X pipes. They are a true X pipe like the Dr Gas.
