An off road H-pipe would be even louder than the X but you will get a little more power out of the X.I myself have a 98 Gt and i noticed it wasnt loud enough either with just flows.I cut my tailpipes off and dumped the flows, sounds nice, but im probably losing a little bit cause of less backpressure.

Flows sound weak with your factory H pipe, you need an o/r H or X to wake them up. A hi-flow catted pipe will also help, but not like an o/r pipe.

I turned mine down too. It's loud as hell. I think there is still good back pressure with them dumped

then which brand would you suggest getting for strictly sound....is the o/r h noticeably louder than a catted or o/r x pipe...what is the horsepower difference between them? Thanks a lot for the help

UPR O/R

Cheap price, great fitament, great construction, great sound, and very nice power gains! Who says "you get what you pay for"? UPR kicks ass.

I've got Flowmaster 40's with a magnaflow x-pipe on my 96 GT and it's okay but still not loud enough. If you have an automatic you can't use BBK long tube headers. I believe hooker makes some however.
