I have SLP lts and a SLP catted X. My leak is on the driver side where the cat and the collector meet up. For those of you that don't know much about the SLP brand they use clamps to connect all of their stuff together. Anyways we tried their clamps first. We drove the car around for about 2 minutes and heard the leak. We went back to to the garage and retightened everything. It still leaked. so we decided to get wider clamps from carquest. We slapped that on it, took it for a spin and it was still there. My friend says the only way to fix it is to weld it. I agree but i bought SLP for versatility. If i want to switch from catted to off road X all i have to do is take off the clamps, slip off the cats, slip on the straight pipes and re-clamp. If i weld thats out of the question. Now mind you i would only be doing this swap when i went to the track. I AM SO PISSED as to what i should do and what my options are. I was thinking about taking it to a shop and having them take a look at it. but if they can't fix it i know they won't do it for free.

So what do you guys think?

Are you absolutely sure that's where it's leaking? Exhaust leaks are about the most annoying thing in the world but they are also deceiving. I was SURE my EGR connection was leaking and it turned out to be a loose bolt on my header.

I had a similar issue with my Magnaflow pipe too.. I thought I had a leak and I ended up welding the WHOLE system (even the midpipe to the catback). The "leak" was still there...

It ended up being the exhaust gasses resonating inside the X pipe. I drove down to Summit racing and bought some DEI Header wrap and wrapped the X pipe. The sound disappeared.

Just my $0.02

Well We are pretty sure because when we took off the clamp SLP sent me there was all this black residue on it from where the air was coming out. My buddy says its backpressure that is shooting out of the leak. To give you an idea as to what it sounds like it sounds like a motorcycle is underneath my floor mat. I think we have it narrowed down as to where it is coming from.

Yea, welcome to the world of modded exhaust LOL. My last GT leaked no matter what i did and this one does too. I've tried everything and have learned to just live with it, so meh. Car runs 13.8's with "the leak" so i'm not too worried about it

Yep, sounds like it if you have black soot..

You should be able to hear it better if you have a buddy cover your tailpipes and you listen for it..

At this point, I don't know what to do.. You could use some of that muffler tape as was previously suggested, or get some of that muffler cement..
