I was wondering how a exhaust leak sound? Well since I got LTs and the ORh on, ive been hearing this noise, like fuel rushing through with some other sound. Its like a ticking sound. But could that sound be from running no cats and having my old 2.25 flowtubes with the 2 1/2 hipe.If I have a leak can I feel it?

An exhaust leak can definitely sound like a ticking sound. It may also sounding like a PSHH sound too. I've heard of people using fog machines, or something that spews smoke, and fogging the engine bay and the rest of the exhaust to see where it's coming from. You won't really be able to "feel" the leak, unless it's a BIG one, like my open EGR bung was. My cap had fallen off, and when I was setting the fuel pressure, I blipped the throttle on the throttle body, and felt a ton of hot exhaust gases blasting my hand and face. I looked down and that hole was wide open, lol.

Well i listen to the sound and it sounds like its by the headers. What should i check?Bolts?Gaskets? If its the gaskets, will i have problems replace them.

A ticking is a likely exhaust leak.

See if the bolts have backed out. That is a common problem. Tighten the down and see if it goes away.

If it doesn't, you will likely need to sway gaskets. Nothing to crazy, just remove all bolts but only loosen the 2 outside ones. The gasket should have a notch in those holes so it will slide up and out, and then install some new ones. Pretty simple. I would recommend copper ones, b/c if the bolts back out, it won't fry the gasket material.

What size bolts should the headers have.I didnt have time to check the all the bolts but i notice that 3 bolts needed a 12mm wrench and 1 bolt i needed a 11mm.

I also had a friend check the sound out and he thinks its coming from where the header connects to the midpipe, what might have to be replace there.

thanks for any help

Nothing will need to be replaced if its comming from there. The headers are connected to the mid pipe just by bolt/studs. There prob just loose. Hit it w/ some penetraing spray first b/c those bolts are usually pretty rusty and if you snap one of the studs then your screwed.
