Exhaust manifold gasket change = headache, how?

So... I can't get 2 bolts to thread all the way in. They just don't get hard to turn. They just stop. I've sprayed some solvent in the holes thinking there might be some anti-seize gunked up in the back, but that didn't fix the problem.

You guy think I should try running a tap through it?

Maybe a dumb question, but are all the bolts the same size?

I have had it happen where a "kit" contained some wrong bolts.

A tap may solve the problem, just have to try somethings.

Best advice, just take your time.

Yeah they're all the same length.

I really have no idea what's going on. I stuck a toothpick in the hole to see how deep it was and its deeper than the bolt is long. I'm just running out of threads.

How did you remove the bolts before, maybe you stripped out the hole a little?

The bolts weren't on there tight at all. I was able to break em lose and unthread them with my finger. This is a really baffling situation.

Yes it is.

I would say at this point try and tap the hole and see where that gets you.
