Hey guys, I will be purchasing the Dr. Gas O/R X-pipe here soon. I have heard of people painting their aluminum exhaust in order to prevent wear and rust. I was just curious as to what paint would hold on to the exhaust and not chip away in rough conditions, etc. etc. Overall, what paint would hold up and protect my exhaust tubing? Please give me some input, thanks. I'll prolly be doing it to my Spin Tech Side Exhaust, cept the tips of course ;-). Thanks.

Probably 1200 degree paint from walmart. Light sanding maybe? And a lot of coats. Prepping the surface is the key.

So sanding the surface of the aluminum would be good prior to putting on the paint? Also, would I need to put a base coat of primer on there, is that necessary?
