What is the diameter of the stock exhaust pipes? I'm thinking around 2 1/4". I have a pair of Dynomax Bullets I'm going to have installed in the near future that are 2 1/2". Thanks.

it is definitely 2 1/4. You can make the 2.5 mufflers fit if you take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

I wanted to go 3 inch from the mufflers back but it wouldnt fit, so I'm going 2 1/2 all the way with 8" long 3" tips.. I hope it wakes up the exhuast some.... not to hijack the thread but his question was answered, so do you think 250 bucks or so is worth the pipes and labor? Will it wake up the sound a bit more?

2 things - the size of the tips doesn't mean a thing (unless, of course, it's smaller than the rest of your exhaust system )
What the hell is this pic in your sig? Nevermind, I don't think I want to know.

yeah i know the size of the tips don't matter when it comes to performance, but that's not the reason why i posted it. it's all cosmetics. 3.5 inch tips look better to me than the stock 2.5 or 2.25 inch tips, whichever one the Ford one is.

I recommend going with 18" long tips. I got 12" long ones and you can see where the pipes go from 2.5" to 3". With 18" long tips, the transition will be hidden, giving you a cleaner look.

They are generic chrome tips that costed $80 for 2 (with welding). They had stainless steel tips at the place I went to that look exactly the same but costed $120 with installation.

So now I just need to find a decent place to get the mufflers welded on. I called the place that put the Flowmaster on my T/A and they wanted $50 a muffler. That seemed just a tad bit high to me.

$50 a muffler actually sounds good to me. I paid $240 for 2 flowmaster 40's with welding it to my current H-pipe. Then I had to pay $80 for my 3.5 inch tips with welding.

please some one answer me for the wake up?

If the 2.5s at 250 is reasonable, I'll just get a 3" cat back and lose my flow 40s

Oh and my flow 40's were 120 installed, then again I used the whole "well I just go back from the middle east schpeel"

I just wanted 3" from the mufflers back, pressure isnt as important after the flows right? As long as they creat enough back pressure... its the same theory as dumps... I mean less distance for the air to travel sure, but if the muffler creates the needed back pressure then all gas after the muffler is just dead energy?
