I found a place around me that can make me a custom exhaust (headers all the way back). Now my question is if I'm going to do this, what diameter piping do you think I will need to get. My car is stock except for K&N, so would 3" be too much? Also, is there some reason why buying a name brand exhaust would be better than having one fabricated or vice versa?

if they know what they're doing then fine. Reason people get name brand is for the reputation the name carries. if you plan on a full exhaust upgrade go no bigger than 2.5 inch mandrel bent stainless steel piping. Note: remember, what goes in must come out concept. Since you are adding exhaust you should soon later on make some intake upgrades as well.

I would go 2 1/4" if you want to stay N/A, 3" if you are getting a supercharger. I have 3" piping, and it lost a little torque down low, but has good power up top. Should be sweet when I have the $$$ for a supercharger.
