The other day i took off my flows after my cats and left them off. My car sounds a lot louder then before and better, but i have a question. I was wondering if i lost any power? I don't think that it would lose any power because now there is less restriction. The only problem is that it is way too loud and i want to get a straight 3" pipe so the exhaust will not be released right under my car. I don't want to leave it without exhuast though if it is losing any power. If anyone knows please tell me........thanks.

The stock cats are the restriction. You probably haven't lost any power.

I would have researched performance advice before I took off the exhaust. In addition, it may be illegal to run your car that way in Houston.

Also, permanent hearing loss could result from exposure to prolonged periods of open exhaust.

You may have to reset your computer so adaptive can re-learn this loss of restriction. Good rule of thumb to do on any mods actually.

peace

I put a bassani x pipe with cats and flowmaster 2 chamber cat back system on my 98
Cobra. The sound is awesome, and it has provided at least another 10 hp to my already quick stang. Although sometimes, it just doesn't seem loud enough to me.....
