Exhaust Question

I have a 87 mustang gt. I put a set of flowmaster 40's on there. It has a real deep deep sound. But i don't have any of that higher pitched muscle car sound. You know how older muscle cars sound, i have none of that its deep all the way through the rpm range. I have stock headers, and a stock catted h pipe. What do you guys suggest? Thanks
 
Here's the recipe for what ails you.

1.75" BBK Ceramic LT headers
2.5" BBK OR X pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder Catback

I just had this put on my LX Coupe, and it is exactly what you describe. I get no drone, and it's fairly tame at idle and just cruising...jump on the gas, and it screams.
