Exhaust Question

I have a 87 mustang gt. I put a set of flowmaster 40's on there. It has a real deep deep sound. But i don't have any of that higher pitched muscle car sound. You know how older muscle cars sound, i have none of that its deep all the way through the rpm range. I have stock headers, and a stock catted h pipe. What do you guys suggest? Thanks

so you want a louder flowmaster tone and not so deep all the time ?

I'll try to get some sound clips of mine up cause its the best damn sounding exhaust i have ever heard and loud as all hell, take a look at my signature.

if yur car is really all stock, your not going to get the sound your after.

i am going with magna flow high flow x pipe, bbk shortie headers, and magna flow mufflers, tends to have that high pitched 4.6 type ferrari sound

Here's the recipe for what ails you.

1.75" BBK Ceramic LT headers
2.5" BBK OR X pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder Catback

I just had this put on my LX Coupe, and it is exactly what you describe. I get no drone, and it's fairly tame at idle and just cruising...jump on the gas, and it screams.
