whats the most cheapest thing i can do to my exhaust? cut the cats out and just weld in straight pipe? its a stock 5.0 V8 and im looking for performance

Depends on what the rules are and how strict they are enforced. I dont have cats on mine, its not really looked for here, there is no state inspection.
