Hi guys Im new here, hopefully some one can help me out because Im gettin confused. Well i just bought a 97 GT which is my first mustang! the car sounds pretty good right now it has some kind of o/r H pipe (looks like a custom one) and a flowmaster catback. The problem is it sounds like every other mustang on the road, and Id like to be a little bit different. I want it to be as loud as possible but still sound good. I have been thinking about a mac catback, maybe to switch things up a bit. Problem is Im stuck on the mid pipe i kinda like the x and i kinda like the h I really dont no im just confused on what to get. If anybody could tell me how the mac system with either the x or the h sounds that would be great audio clips would even be better. I think ive watched the videos on youtube about 100 times each lol and just cant decide. Im sorry for the long post but i need some help. Thank you

I would research them a bit, plenty of exhaust videos on youtube, streetfire, and other sites. To me, the best sounding exhaust is a LT's, catted h, and stock cat back.

The x will be a bit more raspy, the h a little deeper.

Well, x-pipes provide slightly better gains due to the scavenging effect they produce. Maybe that will help your decision. I love my O/R X and LM1s, but it's definitely not for everyone. If you go with an x-pipe, I would go with Bassani (midpipe and catback).

you can go with MAC, not everyone has it and even though its chambered it still sounds different from flowmaster

You can also go with Bassani, definitely has a unique sound that no other muffler has. Sounds good with a catted X pipe but gets really raspy with an o/r one.

Thanks a lot guys for the replies. I think im pretty set on getting the mac system, and maybe a UPR o/r X or Mac o/r H, those are basically the two things I have to decide on now. All I no is that I want it pretty loud . so if anybody can let me no how these midpipes sound with the mac that would be great thanks!

It's all personal taste really.

I run a UP O/R X pipe with dumped Magnaflws.
Quiet most of the time but I can also make you think the world is coming to an end if I feel like it.

Haha so you think the H would be the best choice for the MAC catback huh?

it's programed into my tune throught my sct, not the msd 2-step, but it's cool as hell when sitting at a light when a little ricer is next to you,

but as for launching on street tire it's worthless, all it does it smoke them off
