Ok i really really like the way the way a 93+ v8 camaros and firebirds sound. they are like an american rice burner. which i think sounds good. its like a throaty moan with no rasp. I mean i here some stangs sounding like that also, but not as often as firebirds and camaros which im just using for my common example. Anyways i have headers,x-pipe,and some dynomax and my car sounds like a idling boat. I bought the car like this. And there are no pipes coming off the mufflers i dont know why i guess the guy got broke and never finished it. So until i got funds and a way to get a better sound i just have some custom turndowns clamped on to avoid heat towards the gas tank etc... anyways.. Is mimicing those cars in a 5.0 possible through just exhaust work. or would it require a cam etc...ps.just for the heck of it i remeber when i put a cai on my old POS car it sounded a lot different, but i shun away from cai it was nothing but trouble..
anyways any suggestions. thanks

come on man i hate that ricer sound( i knew the american ricer comment would bite me) just want some aggresion from those pipes.my car sounds good but not mean. I wonder if a flow 40 swap would do the trick i just cant imagine to similar mufflers sounding so different..

There's no way fartcans would make you stang sound like rice, you'd probably just blow the insides out on the street.

From what it looks like fatcans look like straight through mufflers, kinda look like my bullet mufflers, though bullet mufflers arent the tips also. I bet if you put a fartcan on a v8 it would be really deep and really loud, probably just like a cherry bomb.

dynomax are glasspack arent they? try some flowmaster super40. BTW I own an LS1 camaro and while it does sound sweet, I still prefer the sound of a 5.0, especially if it has a big cam to give it that gurgling sound at idle. But I belive the big difference between the sound the 2 cars will make is the firing order. there is really no way to make the 2 cars sound the same.

If you want the chebby f-body sound... then take Ford True Dual Exhaust and scrape that layout... run your headers into a y pipe for a single exhuast down to a sideways placed muffler that has one inlet and two outlets for a phoney dual exhaust system.

THEN you can have you nasty dump truck sounding car you want :nice:
