I really dont care for the aluminized look that my Flowmaster pipes have. I cant afford 180 bucks plus shipping for a set of MAC polished tail pipes so I was looking at some polished tips but dont ever see them on our cars. Wanted to get some input on if you guys and gals think it will look ok. These are from Summit and have a 2.5 in and 3" out and are 8" long so they will cover the pipe all the way to the pipe hanger and have a rolled slant tip. They will cost $40, should I do it or just keep the aluminized look?

All I have is the standard Flowmaster American thunder cat back with the slash tip 2.5" aluminized pipes. The Summit tips slide over the Flowmaster pipes and go back 8" (right where the hanger is) so I dont have to weld anything or add a new hanger. So I figured from the side of the car you could see the point where it goes from chrome to aluminium:shrug: But basicaly it looks like it will look just like yours so I guess I will order them.
These are the only two shots I have of the pipes.

Aluminized tips ??

I have FLowmaster cat-backs on both my Mustangs and they came with Stainless-Steel tips

Those tips are way to short anyway. You cna see the entire tip so you really need either 18" or 20" long tips.

MRT makes some nice tips

I've been looking for some good tips as well. Anyone know where to get some good 3.5" slash cut tips? :nice:

I loved the ones that came with my old Mac catback. I don't want to have to buy the whole catback just for the tips, because I am making my own system.

IMO, the only tips that I care 4 on 94-98's are the stock, or stock looking tips where its polished the whole length of the tailpipe since they are so visible from the side...Not too fond of the weld on 3.5 inch tip look since our tips dont hide behind bumper cutouts like the 99-04's do....The stock looking tips flow with the lines of the car better IMO...

Heres a pic of my Flowmaster tailpipes...

Dont buy the summit tips, they arent the best quality. I have returned two sets of them in the past. For a 99-04 they arent that bad because not much of the tip is exposed, but on your car you want a good quality tip because you can see a good portion of it.
