extending o2 sensor

my o2 sensor on the drivers side is a little too short for my liking and is a little bit streched. i was wondering if i could extend it with some speaker wire or do i need a specific kind of wire?

Basic multi strand wire can be used... Or you can buy the sensor extenders they make for L/T headers.

it only needs to be extended about 2 inches. thanks for the reply
