As always, I'll be there.

Unfortunately the forecast is for rain all weekend here in San Diego, so it looks like I'll have to miss Knotts this year...

I’ll be there. Larry, too. I don’t have the details but we should be meeting as usual before the gates open in the Sears parking lot at the Buena Park Mall. I need to set up a restaurant for some eats after the show. Any suggestions for a place in the area?

It's a point of pride with Robert that he has never, ever washed his entire S351 let alone the wheels.

(My wife & I attended briefly as spectators when we realized later in the morning that the rain was going to hold off. It gave us an excuse to take the SVTF on its first extended road trip.)

...ok, first of all, lets get the stories straight!! I never use water to wash the speedster!! The beast is detailed when it leaves the garage. I simply don't wipe down the car every 30 seconds at shows like others seem to do (won't metion any names ) Lets not put me in the same class as SaleenMike, as he hasn't washed his speedster since 2004 and it wasn't even him that washed it, TED did!!

...at least I wasn't affraid to drive it in the rain for the fear it might get wet or even make a little effort to stop by the show and say Hi to their friends (again not mentioning any names Jeff or Mike !!)

My car is a daily driver now and got drenched Monday... right after I spent Saturday washing and waxing it.

Yeah I know. I would have loved to have been there but there were two other things in priority over the show. One was in-laws visit (which didn't materialize) and the other was a 2 year old's b-day party. I'd rather watch toddlers swing a bat at a monkey pinata then look at old cars I guess

I was there with the little one (she looked at people while I looked at cars... she's only 7 months, she'll learn). Didn't notice any clean wheels on Robert's car, but I did notice another rare site... the top up.

Sorry I missed you guys, there was no one around when I went by the cars, but had to keep moving for the kid.

.....yeah, that was only the second time in the five years I've owned the car that the top has been up. The only other time was at the John Force Christmas show a few years back as the weather that day wasn't all that well. There was a quick semi-down pour and I really didn't want the interior to get dretched. The aftermath was kinda funny as show spectator's were attempting to figure out what the white figerglass thing was sitting inside of the car while the top was up I guess not to many of them are familiar with the speedster option that saleen offers....

...Jeff, I sure hope people understand that we are all good friends messing around as we take turns bashing one another. If not, they probably think there is alot of anomisity between quite a few of us As much fun as I had, I would have much rather been at a birthday party, free food and beverage...

The speedster cover does fit in the car with the top up? I admit, I never have tried, and I would imagine that you could not drive it home with it in the car, but do you have a picture to show how it fits in case rain does come ones way during a show?

Yes it fits in 99-04, but very difficult to drive. No right side visablity very little rear.

Turn the point to the drivers side, lay the seats all the way back, move them forward, slide the tonneau in to the dash, move the seats back, then the tonneau back, you are ready for a solo ride, unless you have a passenger who doesn't mind laying out flat.

Best thing to do, stop the car, take the tonneau off, put the top up and call for a support vehicle.

.....that's about the best description for the process of getting the tonneau to fit inside the car. I haven't had to drive with it in the car but I do know of a couple who went cross country in the their 99 a few years back. They hit heavy rain in Texas and drove a pretty good distance with the tonneau riding shootgun. The wife laid across the back seat while the husband drove. Personally, I barely fit in the car as is, so the tonneau would make it nearly impossible for me to drive with any other item in the car.....
