Anyone have a car lift in a garage?

Does anyone have a car lift in a home garage with a 9 ft ceiling?
What obstacles or recommendations would you suggest? Was thinking a 4 post lift.....
I am aware that I would not be able to lift a car all the way up ( 9 ft ceilings,) but I notice youtuber Chris Sullivan sits in a rolling shop chair and rolls around under his while repairing them..
Yes I know a shop would be the best, but its not going to happen and I am really tired at my age ( will be 70 in April) lying on the ground..... I know I could get more done if I could get under them easier...
Anyone done this?

I have an 11'2 ceiling and a bendpak hd7p and it's good enough for my mustang and for me to walk under the car the entire winter without ducking (i'm 6'1).
If i were to lose 2ft i'd probably switch to a 2 post or a scissors style (i'd recess that in the floor). Not sure if i would use a quickjack or not, i've yet to see one in person.
There is fine line where ducking is worse than laying down.

For arguments sake, i went out and measured down 2ft from the bottom of the lift with the car sitting where i leave it, a couple inches from the ceiling.
It would be too low to do anything on the underside.

Dont' forget either, good hydraulic slide jacks are really expensive too. I have one and then a jacking plate that i can put jackstands if i need both ends in the air which so far has been almost never.

Let's not forget the part that many miss, your garage door needs to go up too. I had to convert my door to a high lift, it doesn't interfere with my car, but it would with an SUV. If your rails are low, that could be yet another issue.

I'd probably go a different route than a 4 post or if there is more room above your garage modify the ceiling, you can get more space depending on how it's framed.

Edit: The reason i say 2 post is because then you are only under the car itself with the wheels hanging, another quick measure reveals that would get over a foot back from the bottom of the lift to the side body.

I have only been around 2 posts but thought a 4 post might be easier on ' an old man"..... Good point about additional height gained...
Have you watched Chris Sullivan roll around under his cars... He has a two post come to think of it..
Got a little PO the other day while trying to change the front differential fluid in my Chevy Pickup... I have always done maintenance on my cars, mainly because I know its done right with the fluids and parts I want used.... Getting old sucks....

I've got a harbor freight scossor lift in mine. It works out well. My garage has an 11ft ceiling but maxes with a fox at around 9ft. Doesnt come close to the door motor or hardware. Its the same one thats sold by a binch of other bramds...they just paint it a different color.

This is all the way up with the car on 2x4 blocks on the lift arms. I did have to make ramps because my other car is too low to clear it. Recessing in the floor would be nice....but expensive and a lot of work. I put a quick coupler on the hydraulic line so i van move the pump out of the way.

I can easily fit under it on a rolling stool. Its a plus that I can move it anywhere.
