FACT OR FICTION

When it comes to racing we all know that no one can argue that Ford has made a name for itself just ask the Italians over at ferrari. In fact Ford is the only american company to really challenge the world :flag: (fact). My question is, is the 427 cammer engine is the most powerfulest engine ever? This engine built by Ford hp output was rated at 616 2 barrel and with a 4 barrel it put out 657 hp. This engine was known as the Hemi killer is this fact or fiction? Don't believe me go to www.musclecarclub.com

427 SOHC engines were the original "crate motors" and came with 1 4bbl or 2 4bbl intakes. I know a Ford dealer that has 1 still in the crate, wrapped in oily plastic as it was shipped! NASCAR outlawed them b4 they ever got on the track so Ford sold them to racers and lost alot of money on them. Most found they way into long wheelbase A/FX Mustangs, Gas Rhonda won the championship in 1965 with one! btw they used 6ft. of timing chain!:nice:
