New to my 2006 mustang gt. I have a after market alarm and when I opened my trunk without disarming the alarm and what I thought was my after market was the factory alarm and I have no remote for it and was not sure how to shut it off the horn was going crazy in front of the car and I seen there was a second horn going off will the front horn did not go off and I smelt something burning and then the horn stopped. It the horn gone or could I have fried the wires

Thanks in advance

John

Put the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, then turn it off. That stops factory alarm. Horn could be bad, or the wires could be bad, you have to check that. Plug the bad horn into the wire of the good one and test. If it fails, most likely just the horn is bad. You can get a pair of factory style remotes off ebay for $15. They are easy to program and come with instructions.

I hope it helps. I have other tips for troubleshooting the horn if switching them doesn't resolve anything or if you find both horns to be good.
