I have been struggling to get my 89 GT running and I stupidly pulled out the 2 alarm fuses that hang under the dash.

When I put them back in and reconnected the battery the dang thing keeps going off and wont respond to the fob??? Anybody know how to reset this puppy???

only other thing I stumbled across is that if I have the key in the ignition in the ON position and then I connect the battery the alarm doesnt sound.

- the fobs dont work however and the little red light under the dash is blinking as it used too??? There must be som sort of pattern to reset this thing.

I dont know if its factory or dealer installed but the actual box under the dash has a FORD sticker on it???

they are installed by a 3rd party. and yes, leaving the key in the on position will work, but make sure you push the LED in to make sure it doesn't arm itself in the mean time.

is the battery in the remote dead?

Both FOBS worked previously? so I dont think its that?

Is there a trick to reset the whole thing?

what do you mean "RESET"? there should be a flashing red LED that you can push in to switch modes. one mode is when it self arms itself and the other requires you to arm it. by default, when the battery gets unplugged, it reverts back to the mode where it arms itself; usually after 30 seconds.

at least this is how mine works.

Well, If the key is turned into the ON position the alarm does not sound when I connect the battery. The red light under the dash blinks but nothing is functioning with the fobs? I tried pressing it in different sequences but the fobs do not work...it just stays flashing?

If the key is not in and I connect the battery the alarm just keeps going off and the red light when pushed doesnt seem to do anything either????

I just pulled a fuse and then replaced it...nuts...The system worked trouble free before I pulled that damn fuse?

i cant figure out what "fobs" means...explain? if you mean the remotes, just try changing the battery

you are only supposed to push it once. the light sequence will not change until you arm it with the remote, and disarm it. contact ford and ask who the third party who installs them is. my friend broke the LED button and ended up frying the entire alarm box on me. it wasn't that expensive for the new box and remote.
