Factory amp question?

In my 93 gt I wanna up grade the stereo. But there saying there is a factory amp in there cause it has the premium stereo in it. Does any one know where the factory amp is? They say i can bypass it by running speaker wires from the radio to the amp to bypass it. Any help.

They make a harness to bypass it. Mine was behind the stereo yours might be under the passenger seat..

I saw the thing under the passenger seat but wasnt sure if that was it and couldnt think of where it would be in the back. Crutchfield shows a harness to bypass the amp. Thanks for the help.

What year car is it? in my 87 it was behind the radio if its your 88 it should be the same. If its you 93 check under the passenger seat.

It is my 93 and i see it under the passenger seat. My 88 didnt have one .
